Tinnitus Patients Needed for Research Study

Leeds Trinity University are launching a new study: “Evaluation of an online mindfulness approach to manage tinnitus distress."

This is a direct follow-up to my (Dr James Jackson) most recent paper with Chloe W. which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/eFKNeGwK

To participate, the researchers require you to:

(i) Be eighteen years of age

(ii) Have had persistent tinnitus for at least three months

(iii) Not to be currently receiving any other form of treatment for your tinnitus.

This is an online study utilising online resources. This is not UK-based and anyone can take part from the comfort of their own home. Recruitment Poster below, but the survey can also be found here: https://lnkd.in/edFSJ7Sh

The aim of this research project is to evaluate whether participating in an eight-week online mindfulness program leads to a permanent reduction in tinnitus-related distress, anxiety, depression, sleep hygiene and/or improvement in well-being. Mindfulness is focusing attention in a particular way, in the present moment, and without judgement. Our previous research has shown that this Mindfulness course can be clinically effective after eight weeks (Jackson & Woolmer, 2024). This time, we will also be collecting additional data at six-month follow up to consider permanence of any improvement.

Should you be interested in participating, please proceed directly to the survey link above to register your interest.
