Subtitle Glasses for Cinema and Theatre
Another exciting development for we hard of hearing people has arrived.
With this AND Auracast we might even be spoiled at this rate (!)
Glasses, provided by/at the venue, which show floating subtitles/closed captions during the performance. I’m really not sure how that would work with live shows (it uses live transcription but that’s far from perfect), but for cinema it would mean those who need captions weren’t shovelled into the deadzone slots.
I wondered how they work if you already need glasses to see. They can be shown on a phone/tablet, or you can sit on the very front row and leave your glasses off!
